My Journey into K-pop: From BTS to BLACKPINK

My love affair with K-pop began in 2020, and it all started with one song: Dynamite by BTS. The cheerful melody and energetic dance routine immediately captivated me, and so I began exploring more of BTS's music. However, my interest quickly shifted from BTS to BLACKPINK. I find myself still stanng them to this day.

The First K-pop Song That Captured My Heart

While Dynamite was my entry point into K-pop, my very first favorite K-pop song is not associated with BTS. Instead, it's Monster by Irene and Seulgi from Red Velvet. This song hit me hard because I watched the performances and choreography videos repeatedly, trying to learn the choreography myself—in spite of still being far from perfect. This love for dance and music continues to guide my K-pop journey.

Park Jimin: The First Idol to Stand Out

My first idol, and one who immediately stood out to me, is Jimin from BTS. His angelic voice and awe-inspiring dance skills make him a perfect idol in my eyes. In the Dynamite and Butter era, his hair caught everyone's attention; he's been my favorite since the beginning! I even collect Funko pop toys of Jimin, and my ultimate goal is to get the Butter variant adorned with rainbow hair. His dedication to his craft is truly inspiring.

Discovering K-pop Through TikTok: Kill this Love

My introduction to K-pop was intensified by the viral Kill this Love video on TikTok, which made me a hardcore K-pop stan. The catchy tune and captivating performances drove me to dive deeper into the world of K-pop. It all started with one song, but my passion for K-pop has only grown since then.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my K-pop journey so far. I look forward to continuing this exciting path!
