My Private Menagerie: Five Extraordinary Species I Would Want to Have

Ever since I was a little kid, there has been one kind of beast that I believed to be the MOST AWESOME animal ever conceived by mankind. It's the dragon, a proud and majestic creature. Dragons, dragons, and dragons… they would be the centerpiece of my dream private menagerie. I would also include a few other extraordinary species, such as a shape-shifting mermaid, an undead Ice dragon, a basilisk, a Dalek, and a Rocket Raccoon.

The Shape-Shifting Mermaid

First on my list, I would definitely want a shape-shifting mermaid that can develop human legs and feet when on dry land. Not only is this species fascinating, but they are also incredibly intelligent and can offer me companionship and protection.

The Undead Ice Dragon

Second, I would choose the undead Ice dragon named Sindragosa from World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. This powerful creature would provide both warmth and protection in my menagerie. The Ice dragon's icy breath would be a perfect counterbalance to the warmth provided by the mermaid on dry land.

The Basilisk

Third, I would include Buckbeak, the loyal and protective Basilisk from the Harry Potter series. Buckbeak is a fascinating creature that has a strong bond with its owner. His loyalty and protective nature make him an excellent addition to my menagerie.

The Dalek

Fourth, I would want a Dalek from the popular British science fiction series, Doctor Who. While often seen as aggressive, their complex personalities and intelligence make them intriguing and unique. Additionally, their advanced technology could prove beneficial in various ways.

The Rocket Raccoon

Finally, I would include a Rocket Raccoon from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This clever and adventurous raccoon can serve as a playful companion and provide a touch of whimsy to my menagerie.

Why Each Species?

Dragons have always been the most iconic and awe-inspiring creatures. They command respect and awe, and their intelligent nature ensures that they can coexist peacefully in a group. I would certainly want a tame and protective dragon in my menagerie, and a few specifically trained for riding.

Buckbeak is a great addition because of his protective nature and loyalty. Beyond his awesome looks and kick to Draco Malfoy, he adds a layer of warmth and companionship. His bond with his owner makes him a cherished member of any menagerie.

Mermaids, especially the intelligent and respected shape-shifting ones, will bring a unique blend of beauty and wisdom to my collection. They can coexist with the other species and even offer companionship and protection.

The Ice dragon Sindragosa is a fascinating addition because of his formidable power and ice-breathing ability. His presence would provide both beauty and protection, and his unique ice nature could balance the other warm-blooded species in my menagerie.

Basilisks are the perfect choice because of their protective nature. Buckbeak, in particular, has a strong bond with his owner and would be a loyal protector in the menagerie. I would also include other basilisks if they could be trained to coexist peacefully.

Undead Ice Dragon: Like the real ice dragon, the undead variant would bring a unique and powerful presence to my menagerie. His ability to provide warmth and protection, especially in cold climates, would be valuable.

Daleks would add a touch of complexity to my menagerie. Their advanced technology and unique personalities make them fascinating. They would serve as advanced companions and even as helpers in various tasks.

Rocket Raccoon: While a raccoon, he is extraordinary due to his intelligence and adventurous spirit. He would bring a joyful and playful element to the menagerie, making it a more lively and engaging place.
