Understanding and Managing Quora Topics and Questions

Quora, a popular platform for information and community discussion, continually evolves to provide users with more control over their experience. One aspect of this control is managing the topics and questions you engage with on the site. Managing Questions in Your Feed

When you're browsing through your Quora feed, you'll notice a few key options to help you manage the content you see. Each question in your feed has an 'X' symbol next to it. Clicking this option will present you with three choices:

Downvote the question: This action reduces the prominence of the question in your feed, meaning fewer people will receive it in their notifications or feed. Mute the topic: This feature hides similar questions from your feed, but your mute will not affect other users' feeds. This is particularly useful if you frequently receive questions on a specific topic that you find irrelevant or bothersome. Report the question: If you believe the question violates Quora's rules, you can report it to the moderation team. Once you choose this option, you'll be given a list of options to select from based on the issue you're experiencing.

Managing Topics and Feeds

Quora organizes questions based on topics, and you have several options to manage your topics and feed:

At the right of the topic, you'll see an ellipsis (…). Right-clicking on this will offer you the option to Hide Topic. This action removes all questions on that specific topic from your feed, effectively hiding them from your view. At the top of any question, there's a list of topics. You can click on one of these topics to access the Hide option and remove it from your feed. On any user profile page, you can Mute or Block a user. If a user's content is irritating you, muting them will hide their questions and answers from your feed and profile. On your own profile page, under the 'Knows About' section, you can Hide incorrectly listed topics. If you believe a topic misrepresents your knowledge or interests, you can remove it from your profile, ensuring that it does not show up in your feed.
