Is the Korean Drama Unlock My Boss 2022 Based on a Webtoon and Is This Korean Drama Worth Watching?

Introduction to Unlock My Boss

I have watched this drama at least three times and even bought the DVD. The acting is well-done and the chemistry between the two leads is definitely there. It’s a great drama to just sit back and enjoy.

A Unique Korean Drama

This is an unusual Korean Drama starring Chae Jong-Hyeop from the web series Nevertheless as Park In Seong. With radical music as a backdrop and the best Original Soundtrack (OST) of the year, Unlock My Boss is a high tech light comedy thriller. However, this time the body of an AI corporate CEO is switched into a smartphone. An interesting concept, the premise is not any harder to accept than the premise that men in red capes can fly.

The Plot Unfolds

With the character Park In Seong (played by Chae Jong-Hyeop), a failed actor, ending up with the smartphone, and the CEO (played by Park Sung Woong) in the phone, soliciting the help of the failed actor to get the personality of the CEO out of the phone and back into reality. Park In Seong substitutes for the CEO in the company for a time. This lighthearted comedy Korean drama is aptly titled as a chill pill and a great down-time drama. This drama keeps getting better and better over its viewing time.

Webtoon Adaptation and Engagement

Unlock My Boss is based on a webtoon by the same name. While this drama is not a slow burn, the super action starts in episode four. The drama has twists and turns as well, which keeps you guessing. The female lead offers the quote:

“People say 'Time heals all wounds.' But this is half right and half wrong. Time does not heal anything for you. It is just during that time you learn how to endure and deal with the pain until you get use to it.”

OST and Overall Enjoyment

The OST is great, adding to the overall enjoyment of the drama. The acting and chemistry between the leads are well done, making it a memorable viewing experience.
